It’s our Annual Chalk Art Festival at the Children’s Museum of Brownsville!
Spring has arrived in the RGV! The sun is shining, birds are singing, and we at the CMB are making preparations for one of our most popular and celebrated events.
The Chalk Art Festival has always been a fun and creative gathering in which artists come together and use their talents to turn our outdoor plaza and sidewalks into colorful canvases for their works of art.
In the spirit of friendly competition, we’ll also be offering a variety of prizes in three different categories for artists whose works of art really stand out, so expect to see some stunning pieces as the day rolls on.
If you plan on participating in our Chalk Art Festival, please be aware that:
– You will need to supply your own chalk for usage throughout the duration of the event
– Registration and chalking officially begin at 9 am
– Considering registering early! Click the banner to find our online registration form and more information
– You may find it helpful to practice your design before the event takes place
-We’re expecting sunny weather, so be sure to bring sunblock, caps and/or visors, umbrellas, and (non-alcoholic) beverages in order to stay hydrated
Over the past several years, we’ve seen a multitude of chalk art pieces that are equal parts expressive and impressive. It’s truly a magnificent experience to see firsthand just how something as simple as colored chalk can be used in order to bring even more incredible vibrancy to our already beautiful park. We look forward to seeing you all there!
